AI & the Legal Profession

The UBC Law Review is pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of a Special Issue on AI & the Legal Profession, slated for publication in 2025.

The purpose of this Special Issue is to highlight several legal themes in the wake of recent technological advancements in artificial intelligence. While there are no rigid criteria for consideration, we are especially interested in publishing articles that provide insightful commentary on the impact of artificial intelligence on the practice of law, access to justice, principles of justice, legal adjudication, statutory law, regulations, and/or interpretation.

Article selections are based on the input of the Special Issue's Guest Editor—Professor Jon Festinger, KC—and our regular submissions policies and procedures. The submissions deadline was 1 December 2023.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Thomson Reuters for their sponsorship of this Special Issue. Their commitment to legal scholarship and innovation has greatly enriched the content and impact of our project.
